Runa Farm Wedding - Jade and Jake
Runa Farm Wedding // Durham Wedding Photographer
Last year, Jade and Jake tied the knot at their beautiful Runa Farm wedding. As a Durham wedding photographer, I was thrilled to capture their engagement shoot a few months prior and knew their big day would be a memorable one.
Located on the outskirts of Barnard Castle, Runa Farm is a new and stunning wedding venue that I was eager to shoot at. Runa Farm offers a picturesque setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
Runa Farm provides exclusive use of its facilities, including a renovated wedding barn that serves as the main reception area, a licensed bar, and a courtyard with outdoor seating.
The wedding barn can accommodate up to 150 guests, and the venue offers various wedding packages that include catering and other services.
Upon arrival on the morning of their wedding, I was led to the converted farmhouse where the bride and her party were getting ready. The farmhouse, designed in a boho style with large windows, was perfect for wedding photography.

It was great catching up with Jade on the morning of her Runa farm wedding and I felt really at ease. I hadn’t seen her for a few months, but immediately it felt as if we were just carrying on her engagement photoshoot.
It was great to catch up again. It’s for moments like this I really recommend couples take the time to have an engagement photoshoot, it’s a brilliant way to break the ice. read my blog about why I recommend engagement shoots here
The ceremony room at Runa farm is a beautiful rustic room that the bride enters down a beautiful staircase with chandeliers lighting the aisle. It is such an intimate and beautiful setting to tie the know on your wedding day.
Afterwards, we headed out to the newly developed courtyard at Runa Farm for drinks and canapes. This is a perfect time to capture all those candid moments that really tell the story of your wedding day.
The staff have done such a brilliant job setting up the wedding venue and a wedding at Runa Farm won’t disappoint. It was great to mingle with Jade and Jake's wedding guests and get to know a few of them a little better.
When photographing a wedding I always try to get as close to people as possible. I find the more you interact and get along with people the quicker they relax around you. It’s then you can really photograph the real personalities in people.
As the wedding breakfast wrapped up, I had the opportunity to photograph Jade and Jake's wedding portraits for 15 minutes. Their laid-back and fun personalities made the photography session an enjoyable and fun experience.
I don’t think I laughed so much all wedding season. The beauty of Runa Farm made it easy to capture fantastic photos of the newlyweds. The courtyard and surrounding countryside at Runa Farm make a wonderful backdrop for wedding your photos.
Once the wedding portraits at Runa Farm were done we all headed back inside to start the speeches, cut the cake and the most important thing…. dance.
I love this part of a wedding day. There’s nothing better than photographing people who are having such a great time and letting their hair down.
