Howard Court | lucy and sam
Lucy and Sam tied the knot at the beginning of July at St Nicholas Church, Guisborough before heading to the beautiful Howard Court for their wedding reception. I was excited for Lucy and Sam’s wedding for lots of reasons. Lucy and Sam are such an amazing couple; fun, down to earth and so relaxed. I was looking forward to heading to my local church, St Nicholas for the ceremony and then on to the beautiful Howard Court.
Bridal and groom prep
The morning started when I arrived at Lucy and Sam's house to photograph the bridal prep. I was met by Lucy, as relaxed as ever along with her bridesmaids.
Not long after, I headed around the corner to photograph Sam with his dad, future father-in-law and groomsmen. The mood was relaxed, just how I expected it to be. They all looked great in their suits from Dandy Threads.
I headed back to Lucy to wrap up the bridal prep. It's these final moments that I love when photographing the bridal prep. It's when the final realisations start to sink in about what is about to happen. Sometimes there are tears, other times the odd alcoholic drink to calm the nerves and usually a lot of running around and laughter.
Ceremony
Once Lucy was in her amazing wedding dress, I made my way to St Nicholas Church to photograph the ceremony. St Nicholas is my local Church and I know it very well. Alison is the local vicar and makes everyone welcome.
Guisborough priory
After the ceremony and group photos were completed, the three of us had a walk down the Applegarth for some portrait photos. This is a walk I've completed hundreds of times and know it well. It gives beautiful views of Guisborough Priory and the local farmer's fields during the summer.
Howard court
Arriving at Howard Court we were met by Lucy and Sam's family and friends, already a few drinks in and making plenty of noise as the newlywed couple walked into the courtyard. Howard Court is a stunning wedding venue situated on the edge of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire. As a recommended supplier it is a pleasure to head back and photograph there.

The rest of the day was spent with family and friends. Thankfully, the British weather was on our side and we managed to have the speeches and first dance outside in the courtyard. It's this flexibility that makes Howard Court such a great wedding venue.
